Courting the sun

***

Sun flees dark tempest
Storm-kind give chase in earnest
Sun hides within cave

Thunder shouts with joy
Lightning dances in the clouds
Sun trembles in cave

Gods chase storm from sky
Storm-kind vow they shall return
Sun trembles in cave

Gods sing and lay feast
Spill lamb’s blood and dance withal
Sun trembles in cave

Gods hang glass on tree
Wind tells sun of bright new light
Sun listens intrigued

Sun feels curious
Emerges from within earth
Sees twin in mirror

Gods block cave with rock
Sun’s light fills the sky once more
Gods sing in triumph

  2. What a nice series of haiku Imaginator. I like the way how you’ve reproduced the Myth of Amaterasu in your haiku. Really well done … chapeau. Thank you for participating in Carpe Diem.
