In darkness they waited.  The stage was set; tonight their oppressors would be cowed at last.

Suddenly they heard the alarm ring out across the water.

It had begun.

As one, they moved.

    I like how this is a complete story but still leaves lots of room to expand. Maybe someday we will know what happens next?

    This could describe many battles waged throughout history. I like the line about them moving as one. To succeed, they have to be able to do that.

    it could be an attack of anything or anyone really…it’s interesting, that time right before you move. The anxiety, the captured it so well.
