Daily Prompt Cliché – A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

Most recently, the time that a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush was when I paid off most of the remaining balance on my credit card.

What I really wanted to do was go away on a long weekend, indulge myself in the self-delusion that I was a millionaire playboy with lots of time and money on my hands and no obligations, but I did the right thing and paid off my credit card so that I could start saving to move out of my current digs and then save up to pay for that holiday, two holidays even!

I would have gotten there faster if I hadn’t also needed to buy a new e-reader, and new shirts, and a new satchel, and a new wallet…
